🫐 How long do berries last?
Guideline times for a product stored properly, with the fridge at 4 °C or below.
| Where | How long |
|---|---|
| In the fridge | 2–3 days |
| In the freezer | 8–12 months |
To make it last longer
- Don't wash them before putting them in the fridge: wash them only when you eat them.
- Remove any bruised or mouldy ones straight away so they don't spoil the rest.
- To freeze them, spread them on a tray and bag them only once they're hard: they won't stick together.
When to throw it away
White or grey mould, soft fruit leaking juice, a fermented smell.
These are general guidelines and don't replace what's written on the pack: if the label says something different, follow the label. "Use by" is a real expiry date; "best before" is about quality. If in doubt, don't eat it. The difference between the two dates →
